Hidden in the Portuguese countryside stands the last surviving building of a once-large industrial complex. Most of the factory was demolished decades ago, but this small power station remained.

Its tall brick chimney still rises above the riverbank, while inside the turbine hall the old generators sit frozen in rust. The tiled walls, faded gauges and worn control panels show how carefully the station was once built. Below, the pipework and pumps are intact but crumbling, as if the workers left only yesterday.

Today the building is silent. Water reflects the collapsing roofs outside, and nature slowly claims what industry left behind. It is a rare glimpse into Portugal’s early industrial era, preserved by accident rather than intention.
