Walther‑Glas

At Zur Kohlstätte 9 in Bad Driburg stood the renowned glass factory Walther‑Glas Deutschland GmbH for many years. Originally founded in 1865 in Saxony, the company was re-established in Bad Driburg after World War II and resumed the production of decorative and utility glass in 1951. Walther-Glas gained international recognition for its glassware, including crystal bowls, vases, and decorative items, and exported its products worldwide.

In 2011, the company was acquired by entrepreneur Otakar Motka, who integrated it into the Bohemia Cristal/Kavalierglass group. Despite this restructuring, production came to a halt in June 2013 due to technical issues with the melting furnace and financial difficulties
