In the industrial area of Northeim, Germany, lies the former Zuckerfabrik Northeim, an old sugar factory with a long history. The factory was established in 1876 and processed sugar beets for over a century. Around 1985, production came to a halt, and in 1986 the site was taken over by the company August Oppermann. Since then, it has been largely used for the storage of mining and construction materials. Parts of the site are also rented out to logistics and recycling companies.
