Old Sawmill / Wood Factory
At the edge of a small valley in eastern Germany lies an abandoned sawmill that hasn’t been in use for several decades. The tall yellow chimney is visible from the nearby road, marking what was once a small industrial site surrounded by forest and farmland. In winter, a layer of snow covers the roofs and machinery, adding to the quiet atmosphere.
The main building consists of several connected halls made of brick and wood. Inside, large saws, conveyor belts, and pulley systems remain in place heavily rusted but still recognizable. Their layout clearly shows how logs were cut and processed here.
In one of the halls, part of the roof has collapsed, allowing daylight to pour in. Wooden beams lie scattered across the floor, and moss grows on the walls. Old control panels, switches, and belts are still visible, giving a good impression of how the facility once operated.
Though time and weather have taken their toll, the sawmill remains a well-preserved glimpse into a piece of local industrial history.
