Velichovský Hospic
On a hill above Velichov stands the former Charita hospice, a stately building from 1909 that once provided care for the sick and dying. Founded by Pastor Carl Baumgärtl and operated by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, it was remarkably modern for its time, equipped with central heating and a hydraulic lift.
After World War II, the hospice lost its function and gradually fell into decay. What remains is a quiet, crumbling place filled with fading architectural details a silent echo of compassion and care from a bygone era.
