VEB Gardinen

VEB Gardinen were state-owned companies in East Germany (GDR) that specialized in curtains and decorative fabrics. One of the most prominent was VEB Plauener Gardine, founded in 1953 and later part of the Kombinat Deko Plauen. These companies used advanced textile machinery and synthetic fibers like Dederon. Designers such as Erich Pansold and Ursula Klapper played a key role in shaping their product aesthetics. After German reunification, most of these enterprises were dissolved or privatized.
