VEB Mühlenwerke

Hidden in the Thuringian landscape, along a gently flowing river, lies the abandoned site of the former VEB Mühlenwerke. During the GDR/DDR era, this factory played a central role in processing grain into flour, making a significant contribution to the region’s food supply.

As part of the Volkseigene Betriebe (VEBs) – state-owned enterprises under East German control, grain was delivered here daily, stored, and milled for bakers and food producers in the surrounding area.
