Hotel Sturhahn

Hotel Sturhahn was once a traditional family-run hotel that combined guest accommodation with a café and restaurant, serving both tourists and visitors to the local spa region. Although little historical documentation has survived, the remaining interior provides a clear picture of daily life within the hotel.

The reception desk, complete with its original key cabinet, still stands in place, while the restaurant remains furnished with neatly arranged tables and upholstered seating. A large commercial kitchen, equipped with industrial cooking facilities and serving areas, suggests that meals were prepared on a considerable scale for both hotel guests and restaurant visitors.

Many guest rooms still contain their original furniture, including beds, televisions and seating, giving the impression that the building was closed with much of its inventory left behind. Years of neglect have allowed water to penetrate the building, resulting in mould, peeling wallpaper and collapsing plaster.
