Église Saint-Georges

The church has a medieval origin and developed over the centuries around a Romanesque tower dating back to the 11th century. This massive, square tower built of local limestone was retained when the building was largely rebuilt in the mid-18th century, at which time the present nave and choir were created and topped with an 18th-century pavilion spire.

Inside, a sober yet carefully crafted interior has survived, featuring a Louis XVI altar, an 18th-century pulpit, and several popular devotional statues, including a figure of Saint George. The church remained in use into the 20th century, but due to secularisation and parish mergers it was most likely closed between the 1970s and 1990s. Since then, the building has stood abandoned, a quiet witness to centuries of religious life.
