Officine Netti hydroelectric power plant

Officine Netti was a small hydroelectric power plant built in the first half of the twentieth century as part of local electrification efforts. It used the natural height difference of a nearby watercourse to generate electricity for surrounding villages and small industries.

Inside the machine hall, water turbines and generators were mounted on heavy foundations within a solid stone building with high arched windows. This type of installation was known for its reliability and long-term continuous operation.

With the expansion of the national power grid and the rise of large-scale energy production, the plant gradually lost its function. After its closure, the machinery was left in place and the building slowly fell into decay. Today, the site remains a rare example of early hydroelectric technology reclaimed by nature.
