Metal Presswork Höllmacke

The abandoned factory of Metal Presswork Höllmacke in Werdohl was once part of the region’s long tradition of metalworking industries. Built in the early 20th century, the complex housed large mechanical presses used to stamp and shape steel parts for machinery and industrial equipment.

Inside the long production halls stood heavy flywheel presses that formed metal sheets under enormous pressure. The layout of the factory suggests a typical metal presswork production line, where raw steel was processed into finished components.

Like many smaller industrial plants in the Sauerland region, the factory eventually became obsolete as manufacturing modernized and production moved elsewhere. After the closure, the machines were left behind and the buildings slowly fell into decay, leaving behind a silent reminder of the area’s industrial past.
