Lokwerkstatt Z
Between 1907 and 1911, a large railway complex was built featuring a roundhouse, turntable, workshops, and service halls. For decades, steam locomotives were maintained and prepared here for use on the narrow-gauge rail network. During the GDR / DDR era, the site remained active, servicing various locomotive classes and playing a key role in regional rail operations.
After its closure, some of the buildings remained standing while the tracks gradually disappeared. What’s left is a decaying workshop a silent reminder of an era when steam, steel, and labor were at the heart of industry.
