Industrial Plumbing & Heating
Somewhere in a large city in the Czech Republic stands a former Industrial Plumbing & Heating facility that once served as the central heating plant for an extensive industrial complex. The massive boiler house supplied heat and steam to surrounding factories and workshops, operating continuously to keep the entire site functional.
The system was coal-fired, featuring large boilers, dense networks of pipes, and control rooms typical of mid-20th-century industrial technology. As newer, more efficient and cleaner heating systems were introduced, this outdated installation became obsolete. Due to rising costs, environmental concerns, and technical wear, the boiler house was eventually taken out of service.
Today, the abandoned complex remains as a silent reminder of an era when heavy industry relied on large, centrally operated coal-fired heating plants to sustain urban production.
