Église du Sacré-Coeur de Cointe
In the years between two wars, this church was built for a new community. Not a grand gesture in stone, not a monument for the city, but a building intended to function in the everyday life of its surroundings.
After the First World War, the Catholic Church sought to reconnect with ordinary life. This church reflects that approach: simple in form, clear in layout, and focused on gathering. Light was given a central role, not as decoration, but as an essential element of the space.
While elsewhere monuments rose in remembrance of conflict and sacrifice, this building remained devoted to the everyday. Generations came together here for services, marriages, and farewells. The building changed little, even as the world around it did.
