Decay Railway Workshops
Established in the 1860s, the railway workshops grew into one of the largest industrial complexes in the region. Built to maintain and repair locomotives and freight wagons for the busy Vienna–Prague railway line, the workshops were once the economic backbone of the area, employing hundreds of workers.
During World War II, the site was repurposed for military production, which made it a target for Allied bombing in 1945. Much of the facility was destroyed. Although parts were rebuilt after the war, the workshops never regained their former scale. Today, only a few remaining buildings serve as a quiet reminder of this once-vital railway hub.
