Historical Background of Bunkers in Latvia

During the Cold War, the Soviet Union constructed a vast network of secret bunkers and military facilities across Latvia. These structures served as command centers, shelters, and radar stations, strategically positioned in the Baltic region to defend against potential NATO attacks. Often built deep underground, the bunkers were equipped with independent power supplies, air filtration systems, and secure communication lines designed to operate autonomously for weeks.
