Collegio San Carlo
The former Collegio San Carlo was for many years an important Catholic boarding school that educated young people in the spirit of the Salesian tradition. Founded in the 19th century by Don Giovanni Bosco, it housed a primary school, a secondary school, and a boarding facility. Boys from all backgrounds received not only academic education, but also religious and moral formation.
The institution featured extensive facilities, including its own church, dining hall, small theatre, and a large library containing thousands of volumes, among them rare prints from the 16th century. The atmosphere was marked by discipline, dedication, and a strong sense of community.
Although the college has since closed its doors, it remains a place of great historical and cultural significance. Its architecture and preserved spaces still tell the story of an institution that shaped generations of young people in knowledge, faith, and character.
