Hidden beneath the grounds of a vast industrial complex lies a large Cold War-era bunker, built to protect essential personnel in the event of war or aerial attack. During the second half of the 20th century, the surrounding factory was considered strategically important to the country’s heavy industry and defense sector, making civil protection a key part of the site’s infrastructure.

The underground shelter was designed as more than just a refuge. Facilities of this type typically included reinforced concrete construction, gas-tight entrances, ventilation and air filtration systems, emergency power, water supplies, and command rooms capable of coordinating operations during a crisis. Such bunkers were intended to keep key staff safe while allowing critical industrial activities to continue for as long as possible.

Following the political and economic changes of the early 1990s, the industrial complex gradually declined, and the bunker lost its original purpose.
