Blue Chapel / Istituto San Luigi di Roncovero
Known among urban explorers as Blue Chapel, this abandoned site is officially the former Istituto San Luigi di Roncovero, a large Jesuit seminary built in the 1930s. For decades, it served as a boarding school and religious training center for young seminarians.
After the Jesuits left in 1984, the complex was used for several purposes, including a police training facility, refugee accommodation, and a rehabilitation community. Plans to convert the property into a healthcare center in the early 2000s never materialized, leaving the vast complex abandoned. Today, the building is best known for its atmospheric blue chapel, which inspired the popular urbex nickname Blue Chapel.
