Mansion of the Mayor

Hidden in a quiet town in Belgium stands a large historic residence that was once known locally as the Mansion of the Mayor. The house was built in the early 20th century and served for many years as the private residence of a prominent local mayor and his family.

The building reflects the status its owner once had in the community. Inside, the house features spacious rooms with decorated ceilings, wooden paneling, marble fireplaces and large dining areas where guests were once received. The formal dining room, with its long table and classical furniture, suggests that the house was often used for social gatherings and official receptions.

For decades the residence remained an important place in the town. After the mayor’s death, the house stayed in the family for some time, but as the years passed it became increasingly difficult to maintain such a large property. Eventually the building was abandoned, leaving behind furniture, personal photographs and everyday objects that still give a glimpse into the life that once filled the house.
