Betono Namų Gamykla
This site was an industrial prefabricated concrete factory used for the production of building components for large-scale housing projects. The facility manufactured reinforced concrete elements such as wall panels, floor slabs, stair units and structural modules. The entire production process was carried out on site and included steel reinforcement assembly, concrete mixing, casting in molds, and the handling of heavy elements using overhead cranes.
The factory followed a centralized industrial production model, typical of the construction sector in the second half of the twentieth century, focused on standardization and high output. The presence of internal concrete installations, reinforcement workstations, lifting diagrams and formwork areas confirms a continuous production line dedicated to housing construction.
After major changes in the construction industry and the decline of mass housing programs, the factory was taken out of operation. Since then, the complex has remained abandoned, with much of its original machinery and infrastructure still in place. As a result, the site represents a well-preserved example of industrial prefabricated housing production from that era.
