Kulturhaus 70's Bowling
In Borstendorf, part of Grünhainichen, stands the Kulturhaus “Neues Leben”, a cultural center that opened in 1963. The complex consists of an old wing, a connecting section, and a spacious hall, making it a typical example of GDR/DDR-era architecture. Inside, it once housed a bar and a bowling alley, serving as a lively gathering place for the community.
After its closure, the building fell into decay and stood abandoned for decades. Today, local residents and volunteers are working to bring it back to life, with guided tours, small events, and plans to restore its role as a central meeting place for the village.
