On the outskirts of Rüdersdorf, just outside Berlin, lies a striking industrial ruin: the old chemical plant. What began around 1900 as a cement factory evolved during the war years into a bauxite producer for the arms industry. In the GDR era, the site was transformed into a state-run facility for phosphate and animal feed additive production.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the factory lost its purpose. By 1999, operations ceased entirely, and the complex has stood abandoned ever since. What remains are vast halls, rusted pipes, and towering silos — silent and forgotten, yet visually powerful.
